How we calculate it

  1. After-tax household income = (line 23600 − line 43500) for you, plus the same for a spouse or common-law partner, from your 2025 tax return.
  2. We compare it with the official median after-tax household income for your province or territory and household size (2025 dollars, Statistics Canada 2021 adjusted for inflation).
  3. At or below the threshold: likely up to $10,000. Above it: likely $2,000.
This is an estimate, not a decision. The CRA verifies income using your SIN when you apply. Amounts in the higher tier depend on equipment cost. You still have to meet every other rule (eligible AHRI-listed equipment, HVAC contractor, ownership, one rebate per household, receipts within 6 months). Rules may change. LoonHVAC is independent and not part of any government.
